Stevethebarbarian3 years ago Forget powercreep. By the time this was made, both Reno and Tree of Life had existed for over a year. Both of them kick the piss out of Life Gem, and Tree of Life was literally never played, even in a much stronger control class than Rogue.
Meanwhile, Phaze Boots could easily be compared to Ice Block, Enchanted Spyglass to Sprint, and Forbidden Scroll to... I dunno, there weren't many 5 mana do nothings in the game, but I think there was a good reason for that.
Sallomon3 years ago Yeah, especially that we have one of these treasures as a real card plus it's an Epic so you can play two copies.
Dimensionologist3 years ago Love looking at these old cards. It's fun to see what people thought was powerful back then. A full heal for TEN Mana? Give your hero Stealth for 1 turn? Both stuck behind a Quest? Man, powercreep's crazy y'all...
Shoemanband3 years ago Iirc, comments weren't implemented until KotFT, so no one would have called this card terrible unless they remembered how bad it was and decided to search through the card library to find it.
Stevethebarbarian3 years ago How bizarre... nobody commented on this at the time it was posted, but it's a Quest that discovers you three terrible cards and one mediocre one. One hell of a Quest reward.
